Is hip hop dead, or just in a comma?

I honestly beleive hip hop is in a respirator about to die, its in a comma to say...and I know there are many people that are going to say "underground rap, not mainstream..blah blah" im talking about the hip hop that is heard on the radio, its very very close to die. ALOT of hip hop music is freaking annoying!! no talent!!! repeat the same crap every other second....bay bay...get my point?

If it's in a comma then it must be very small!

its dead, or at least its dead to me i hate hip hop
stuff lyk soulja boy killed it, Just wait for DMX to come out with the Resurrection of Hip Hop. It's gonna bring tha good old dayz back.
Hip Hop is Dead. I started listening to rock now and thank goodness because i discovered The Mars Volta. But there is still good hip hop like lupe kanye and a couple of other people.
i agree,

and alot of new hip hop is done by taking old music that is well known and rapping over it. i wish somebody would do something new.

the reason for the slump in modern music though has to do with record companies,

back in the day the record labels were run completely by fat old men who knew nothing about what people wanted to hear, so they recorded and sold everything, and therefor a wide variety of music became popular, now days they have young people who claim to know what people want. so when something different comes along. they say "no, no one would want to hear this" and they publish the same formulaic crap that we are subject to all day.

i think this is going to stop soon with the advent of downloaded music, anyone can publish anything. soon enough we will start to see a very wide variety of music that we wouldn't hear otherwise

so to answer your exact question:

all music is in a comma but will be out of it soon
I think you mean "coma", not "comma".
I wouldn't say dead, I would say evolved. It will never be what it once was, but it will never die, especially as long as people like myself keep it alive. True hip hop lives on through it's people.
New rappers aren't as talented as 90's rappers, but I see talent in a few.
no hip hop is not dead..wait till tha 18th when lupe n weezy's album come out
Hip Hop isn't dead, its in a vegetative state so to speak. The reason is because of the quality of music that is made nowadays. In the 90's I felt like rap had a better screening process. I just feel like they will throw anyone into the game now. In the 90's, you actually had to know how to rap to become a rapper, the worst 90's MC would demolish a decent current artist, All you need now is a catchy hook and a stupid dance and you are a rapper.
