Hip hop/Rap fans; read this?

Ok, I know many people have done this before me, but I'm going to do it anyway. Why do people hate hip hop/rap. I mean, I understand if you don't like it, sure! That's completely exceptable, but when you start demeaning it and making fun of the people who really like it, that's when it starts getting out of hand. Listen to this: In less than 10 minutes, I have found over 100 posts/comments/replies saying (in one way or another) that hip hop sucks, hip hop is dead, hip hop is lame, gay etc. And that's IN THE RAP/HIP HOP SECTION! Wow, eh? Yahoo answers gives us our very own rap topic, and we can't even escape the critism! I just don't get it! We don't criticise the music you guys listen to, so why do you do it to us? Why can't we both listen to the music we want to? We don't have to conform to what you want. So please, for all you "Hip Hop Haters", tell me why? Prove me wrong! Prove to me that hip hop/rap, along with the people who listen to it, deserve this!

I agree 100%. Music is all about taste. So if I like one kind of music, I listen to it. That's all about it. It doesn't mean I should go about bad-mouthing other kinds of music or people who listen to them. It is just uncalled for. Keep listening and discussing your favorite music buddy :-)

Everyone see all these commercial rappers rapping about stupid stuff and getting money and living good lives for something everyone can do. Than they start to stereotype all rap music even though some of it is deep and is worth while listening to.
its just that they dont understand what its about. they wont take the time to hear what people are really saying (well in the good rap songs by real rappers) its gonna always be an issue for haters to try and cut rappers down by saying they are demeaning and **** when they dont know what they are talking about. if a woman is affended its probably cause she feels she is what they say. im a woman and im not affended by anything in the rap i listen to. f*u*c*k em

i read someone say the only people that listen to rap are small minded. i think the only people that are small minded are the ones that can't except a genre different from the one they like. and so they bash it. they're stupid...

i have better idea. why those who love rap/hip-hop and those who love rock/metal get together and start discussing about their music. and i meant serious people, who know what rap and hip/hop and rock music is about. what you think? i know somehow i have feeling YQ/A won't make it or will it?
It's because the people that nay-say hip hop are either racist, or having never delved deep into the realm of hip hop. I mean lets be honest, if you only listened to the radio or MTV, the main picture of hip hop you're going to get is glorification of material items, degrading women, robbing, fighting, alligning in gangs, narcissism, it's mainly garbage. And that's from a true lover of hip hop. And apparently they're too stubborn to realize hip hop is more than it's commercialized ambassadors. So they're wrong.... they're stubborn and ignorant, but people like 50 Cent don't really help the case of hip hop heads yah know?
I'm not a very big fan of Hip Hop, but I do admit that some Hip Hop music are good music. However, some of the reason why I'm not a big fan of it is because 1) its too loud, 2) a lot of them are very monotonic, if you try to play some Hip Hop music on piano, it would just be a single note repeating itself over and over again. 3) some ideas are too violent or sexual~ Therefore, as they cannot stop you from loving Hip Hop, you also cannot stop them from hating it.
