Is it just me, or does hip-hop seem to take the blame for everything???

Got shot??? BLAME HIP-HOP

Diagnosed with cancer??? BLAME HIP-HOP

World hunger??? BLAME HIP-HOP

I mean, hip-hop just seems to take a lot of $h!t for stuff it's obviously not accountable for. I never see any other genres get lashed out on as a whole.

I think that It's just cuz hip hop is 1. new 2. It really is contreversial (what other types of music tell you to kill cops)? 3. It's mainly minority based 4. Its largely made for (and by) the poor

Back in the old days they blamed Rock for kids acting up.

In the mid 90's, around the time Columbine happened, they were into blaming Marilyn Manson and that kinda music.

I guess its just Hip-hop's turn.

Not sure if anyone saw this but a guy on Fox news blamed that kid in Clevland (who worshipped Marilyn Manson) who shot up his school on Hiphop. It's getting ridiculous.
oh ya, you don't hear anything about yodeling do you? the st. valentines day massacre, the Hindenburg, the titanic all blamed on yodeling.
world hunger? cancer? I've never heard hip-hop blamed for any of that. its blamed for alot of violence and crime though. but i think its more the art imitating life and then the art advocating a thug culture, thus causing an increase in violence and criminal activity.

but the art of hip-hop came from the streets which were already swamped in negativity. I believe it did cause that to spread and made it normal to those who related to the lyrics.
hip hop is a cry for help on the streets where there is poverty and violence everyday.
hip hop makes kids do stuff they here in songs sometimes

i have pretty much asked this same question before.

and its true, but it was the same with other mega popular genre before hiphop so im not really that concerned, because it will be the same with the next mega popular genre after hiphop
