I'd Have to say Outkast. There are musically talented, and are not afraid to do different. They Make real music, unlike this bubblegum, simple a** garbage that people like to call music nowadays. But their aren't very many "Hip-Hop Bands" in music. There are alot of solo artist though..

Bone thugs
Maaaan there's so much good hip-hop out there, I highly recommend checking out the following:

The Roots (The Tipping Point and Game Theory are top class albums)

Strange Fruit Project

Little Brother

Talib Kweli

Nas (Only bother with ILLmatic which is an absolute classic)

J Dilla

Common

The Pharcyde

Wu-Tang Clan

Jurrasic 5

De La Soul

People Under the Stairs

EPMD

Eric B and Rakim

DJ Shadow (more breakbeat than hip-hop but still heavy)

If you're interested in homegrown artists then I suggest giving these British MCs a listen:

Roots Manuva

Ty

Foreign Beggars (highly recommended)

Klashnekoff

Kyza

Lowkey

Dynamite MC

Yungun

I also recommend Saian Supa Crew (sick French hip-hop group)...that should keep you going for a while!
