Why do they call hip-hop music?

Why is hip_hop consided music? I saw a movie on t.v last night called 8 mile with ememn. It showed him doing hip-hop while a bunch of idiots waved their arms and jumped around like a bunch of monkeys(how can you dance to that?)

Its another idiot yelling curse words,and talking trash,to the beat of drums.lol.The worse ones are the fools that buy this garbage and make these so called singers millions.I saw a show on t.v that shows you these so called singers?cribs(homes in the english langague) They got mansions that cost millions,10 cars,swimming pools the size of football fields.(lol) these so called hip-hop artists must be laughing all the way to the bank everytime one of these fools buys their so called music. Real music is oprea,country,rock,classic,oldies ect.

Good singers like the drifters,the beach boys,the temtations,patsey kline,dolly paton,nat king cole,the surpremes,ray charles ect.I know must of these artists are dead,but so is good music! Down with hip-hop,l

I agree. I hate hip hop. All of it sounds the same and the sing (talk) about the same things. I don't know how people can listen to it. I love rock and my friends are shocked when I say I hate hip hop.I don't listen to today's music, though. I'm with you DOWN WITH HIP HOP!!!

Well there are millions who disagree, I like rock, hip-hop, r%26amp;b, jazz but I think country music sucks. good lyrics but the music oh it's horrible. Not all hip-hop is about disrespecting and "bling-bling" you really need to know what your talking about before you open your mouth. You should also get someone who speaks english fluently to ask the questions for you or get hooked on phonics!

I have nothing against people who listen to that kind of music, I just don't like it.

Look at it this way: how many mature adults do you see listening to hip-hop? (not many) Maybe I'm wrong and there are tons of old folke listening to hip hop, but where I am from, you don't see any.
Its a matter of opnion. I think country music is awful. But I am not going to bash it because there are plenty of people who enjoy it and that's really cool. I do not listen to offensive rap/hip-hop music but obviously someone does. Its your opinion that its not music. But there is no need to be so mean and insult hip-hop fans about a type of music they like. Just say you don't like it and get on with it. All those musicians you listed are talented and prolific so why focus on the one type of music that you hate? Ask a question about the stuff you love. You'll have more fun that way.
if it got good lyrics, good beat, good rhythm, its a god damn song. and if millions of people like it ok.
Id just liked to say Rock and or Roll was not considered "Music" as well and im sure way back when, it was the same with nething that was even slightly different then the "Norm" Just because YOU dont LIKE sumthing doesnt mean its NOT music.
